Collaboration Agreement between Gaziantep University Archaeology Society (ARKTO) and the GAYA Project
Within the framework of the institutional collaboration agreement signed on 16 December 2025, activities carried out jointly by the Gaziantep University Archaeology Society (ARKTO) and the GAYA Project aim to expand access to high-quality knowledge in prehistoric archaeology, particularly among university students and participants from diverse academic disciplines.
Rather than serving as a purely theoretical partnership, the agreement provides a practical framework for actively involving students from the Department of Archaeology in the GAYA Project and ensuring that they gain in-depth knowledge of the scientific research carried out within the project. As part of the agreement, students are planned to take part as assistant researchers at various stages of the project, including future field surveys, laboratory classification, and data analysis.
Through this approach, the project aims to provide emerging researchers with methodological field and laboratory experience during their undergraduate and graduate education, enabling them to develop expertise in prehistoric archaeology through direct practical engagement and strengthen their professional skills. Shaped by the contributions of specialists in the field, this process brings together the theoretical foundations of prehistoric research and field-based practical applications, while directly supporting students’ capacity for academic production and highlighting the multidisciplinary nature of the discipline.
